![]() ![]() really I just need to make some software decisions and be done with it for a while and get to enjoy it.Īs for clrmamepro, no I havent tried that. I planned it all around vista 64 but I didnt realize that I would have a light gun problem. Although I havent posted much untill recently, I've been building a cab for a while and it is essentially finished with the exception of making the final touch ups. I'm thinking of downgrading to xp and to regular mame so I can still use guns. Im having issues light guns on vista 64 as well, so in order to have a fighter and shooter cab I may be doing some comprimising anyway. Some of you guys have been doing this for a while so if you have any suggestions I dont mind going a better route. Its not that big of a deal as I want to play tekken and others as well that dont seem to be working very well in mame. If its easier and better to go with a dreamcast emulator or other emulator thats fine. Ive done a very basic overclock with stock voltages and hit a little over 4ghz with no problems. cheap cardĪnd all the other random stuff to make it work. GIGABYTE GV-RX24T256H Radeon HD 2400XT 256MB video card. NVidia & ATI/AMD, or MS, or some standardization agency, has to come up with a GPU standard API before mame will even think about adding it. So if you want it soonest (within 5-10 years), don't bring it up again. If anything, bugging mameDev tends to piss them off, delaying them from doing whatever that thing is. If you're trying to get mameDev to start soon, ain't going to happen. If you don't mind waiting 5 or 10 years in your "going to be" prediction, I'd say you're probably right. MameDev is not going to waste time coding on bleeding edge, still ever changing, not standardized, might not survive APIs, that work only on expensive hardware mameDev haven't placed their own money down to personally purchase. It took something like fives years after "dual core" CPUs came out as "common retail" before mame went multicore, and more if you count that multiple CPU PCs have been around for much longer, and multithreading had been around since before windows. Currently, nVidia & ATI/AMD have two different programming APIs, each working on different hardware with different capabilities, and only on the newest chips. Spending probably about 50 each time beating it. I would spend hours in the arcades playing it and actually beat the entire arcade version 6 times. Until there is a single common API for GPUs that mameDev people have bought, it's still going to be future tense.
